David Schultz, MD, is the founder and medical director of MAPS Medical Pain Clinics and MAPS Applied Research Center. He is a board certified anesthesiologist with additional board certification in pain medicine from the American Board of Anesthesiology, the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians and the American Board of Pain Medicine.


He has been a full-time interventional pain specialist since 1995. He is a board member and past president of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (ASIPP). Dr. Schultz serves as an instructor for ASIPP and for the International Spinal Injection Society. Dr. Schultz is a prolific author of clinical articles and book chapters, a frequent speaker at national meetings and a principal investigator in pain research.

Andrew J. Will, M.D.  is a third generation medical physician, following in the steps of his father, Theodore J. Will, a surgeon, and his grandfather, Theodore H. Will, a family practice physician.

Dr. Will is a graduate of St. John’s University, Collegeville, MN and the University of Minnesota Medical School. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee where he was chief resident. He has been in medical practice since 1998. 

Dr. Will is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pain Medicine and American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians. He is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is the current president of the Minnesota Physiatric Society, the state organization of Minnesota physiatrists.

Dr. James Parmele was born and raised in Kansas. He attended college at Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas where he graduated with honors with dual majors in Chemistry and Biology. He then spent a research year with the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense in Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland before attending medical school.

Dr. Parmele graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine with a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) in 2002. He completed his residency in Anesthesiology and Pain Management fellowship training at Washington University in St. Louis. He also completed a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree while at Washington University.

Dr. Parmele is board certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. In addition he also has board certification in Interventional Pain Management from the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians (ABIPP). He has served as a board examiner for ABIPP training other physicians. He has been practicing interventional pain management in Minnesota for the past six years. His interests include the treatment of spinal pain and spinal disorders.

Dr. Gonzaga specializing in pain management and rehabilitation. She chose the field of pain management  with an emphasis on Interventional Spine and Pain Management because it  provides a wide variety of conservative and non-surgical treatment options to help improve her patients' quality of life.


She completed her  Interventional Pain Fellowship program at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia in 2011 and followed it up with a pain management certification in 2013.  She is a member of the American Osteopathic Association; American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, International Spine Intervention Society. 


 In her spare time, you will find her at the gym, running, snowboarding, biking, reading, watching movies, traveling, pondering the wonders of living, and spending quality time with  family and friends.

Dr. Sam Elghor is the senior physician in the group. He is trained and board certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Management. He has practiced pain management for the past 12 years.


He started the Center for Pain Management which has grown into a thriving practice. Dr. Elghor’s interests include interventional treatment of various spinal disorders. He has accumulated extensive experience in neuromodulation and implantation of spinal cord stimulators. Kyphoplasty is another area of his expertise.
